Following on from past successes with former students gaining full-time employment with Greater Anglia through its study schemes and one-year placements, the train operator is once again offering one-year placements to students studying as part of a university degree.
With such a successful rail network, Greater Anglia is open to receiving applications from students looking to build up their skills by undertaking placements across a number of its operating regional counties, including Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire and London.

With roles including Marketing Executive, Junior Press Officer, Junior Accounting Assistant and Careers & Apprenticeship Assistant among several others, there are plenty of options offering practical experiences relevant to all disciplines of study. There are also engineering roles on offer, giving students to join Greater Anglia’s train Fleet Performance Team.
Being delivered in partnership with the University of Colchester, University of Essex, University of East London, University of East Anglia, Anglia Ruskin’s University (Chelmsford) and a number of Cambridge Universities, students will need to be attending one of these university’s to apply for the roles and be in their third year of a degree.

Successful candidates will start their placements in August and September this year. They will be paid £23.5k and receive free travel across the Great Anglia network during their one year of employment.
Students are encouraged to apply through the Greater Anglia Website. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 23 April 2025.
“We are proud to offer industrial placements to our partner universities across the Greater Anglia patch. These opportunities can significantly enhance students’ CVs, improve their skills, and boost their future prospects. Students will gain valuable real-world experiences that they can rely on in the year ahead.
Our previous placement students have played roles in vital projects over the years, from being involved with the rollout of our new trains, assisting with marketing campaigns and leading parts of our property strategy, and we can’t wait to see what the successful candidates can bring to the table this year.”
