The Weardale Railway in County Durham is getting ready for Easter with more than enough activities to keep visitors entertained.
There will be springtime fun and festive activities for everyone, with trains running throughout the Easter school holidays.
On Wednesday, 16th April, Easter Saturday, 19th April, Easter Monday, 21st April, and Wednesday, 23rd April, trains will run between Stanhope and Wolsingham. On Good Friday, 18th April and Easter Sunday, 20th April, trains will run between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland.

An added attraction is that the railway’s popular Kids for a Quid offer will be available, where up to two children can travel with every paying adult for just £1.
To keep children occupied, there is an Easter Bunny Hunt and a Giant Egg Trail, where they can look out for giant eggs hidden along the line with the help of a spotting sheet.
Prizes for every child will be handed out at Stanhope station, where the Platform Two Gift shop will have a Craft Market of handmade gifts, seasonal treats and local goodies. Delicious treats will also be available at the Fifteas Vintage Tearoom Café on Platform One.
From Wednesday, 16th April there will also be an egg decoration competition at Stanhope station where visitors can enter their own decorated hard-boiled egg.
Judging will take place on Easter Sunday, 20th April, at 2 p.m., with prizes for children under seven, tweens/teens, and adults.
“We’re so excited to welcome families back on board for our Easter Express. It’s one of our favourite times of year here at Weardale Railway. From the scenic train rides through the dales to the Easter Bunny Hunt and craft activities at the station, there s something for everyone to enjoy. Our Kids for a Quid offer also means it’s a fun and affordable way for families to spend quality time together over the holidays.”
