Greater Anglia has continued its annual custom of delivering Easter Eggs donated by its customers in to The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust at Harlow in .

Last Wednesday, 16th April, the train operator delivered 348 Easter eggs and activity kits to the hospital for children in the children’s emergency department and Dolphin Ward, the children’s ward.

The eggs and other treats had been donated by Greater Anglia customers using railway stations at Bishop’s Stortford, , Harlow Town, , and Stansted Mountfitchet, where posters had been displayed inviting passengers travelling through the stations to drop their donations off at the station ticket offices.

This is the sixth year of the initiative, which is organised by Michael King, a relief ticket office clerk at Sawbridgeworth and Stansted Mountfitchet.

In total, nearly 700 eggs and treats were donated this year, which have been shared between the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust and the Enders Touch Foundation.

Last year’s collection resulted in the donation of 623 Easter eggs, Lindt bunnies, Haribo sweets, and books.

Natalie Tarrant, head of The Princess Alexandra , commented that they are so grateful for the Easter treats collected for the young people in their care.

On behalf of The Princess Alexandra Charity, she gave a very heartfelt thank you to Michael, his colleagues and Greater Anglia’s customers, for their contributions towards this generous donation.

“Our customers and staff are always happy to support the annual Easter egg campaign, and they haven t let us down this year with a staggering amount of eggs and treats donated. It’s always amazing to see the smiles on the faces of young people when we make the delivery, and I want to say a very big thank you to my colleagues that help with the campaign, and to our customers for their support.”
