Top discounted Easter attractions revealed by West Midlands Trains

With just over two weeks to go until the schools break up for Easter Holidays, Railway (WMR) has revealed five top attractions across their network which offer a third off in savings when passengers travel by train using National Rail 2-for-1 offers.

The top five list has been compiled based on passenger numbers and ticket sale figures from last Easter, where passengers keen on saving money made great savings last spring, not just saving on their train tickets but their admission fees at attractions too.

In no particular order, the top five attractions across the West Midlands Region are:

Cadbury World

Easter means Easter eggs, and one of Britain’s most recognisable chocolate brands is Cadbury.

Cadbury World in offers a great deal for all those who have a sweet tooth, not only can visitors learn about Cadbury 200 year history in making chocolates, but they can also take a ride on the 4D chocolate adventure, and as a special treat for the easter holidays, guests will be able to watch Mr Cadbury Parrot’s Easter Egg-stravaganza show.

Alton Towers Resort

Alton Towers is one of the UK’s most well-known theme parks with several roller coasters, rides, a water park and his home to CBeebies Land.

Last year, just under a fifth of WMR passengers who used the National Rail Days Out Guide combined with the 2-for-1 offer to reach Alton Towers made great savings on combined prices. Alton Towers can be reached from either or Stoke-on-Trent stations by bus or taxi.

Legoland Discovery Centre

Located within a 20-minute walking distance of and Five Ways station, this attraction offers a great day out in Birmingham.

Visitors can immerse themselves amongst Birmingham’s landmarks made from 1.5 million LEGO® bricks in the renowned MINILAND while also being able to take part in workshops to build and hone their Lego-making skills.

The National SEA LIFE Centre

Also, within a twenty-minute walk from Birmingham New Street or Five Ways station is Birmingham’s National SEA LIFE Centre. For those seeking a day out watching marine life and aquatic animals, there are 60 different displays showing a great deal of marine life and freshwater creatures, some of which are on the endangered list. Day trippers can also experience the UK’s only 360-degree Ocean tunnel experience, a tunnel that transports people right through the middle of a giant fish tank.

ThinkTank

A 10-minute walk from Birmingham Moor Street or a 15-minute walk from Birmingham New Street station Birmingham’s ThinkTank is perfect for those with curious minds with an interest in science and technology. Covering everything from the human body, working machines from the Industrial Revolution, talking robots and space exploration, the ThinkTank is a great day out for all ages.

Visitors can look at over 200 displays and travel to space in the 4K planetarium. Children can play at the child-sized city MiniBrum, offering a racetrack, mini café, construction zone and dressing-up area.
