As of Tuesday, April 1, Transport for Wales (TfW) will welcome Marie Daly to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Her appointment to the role comes at a very exciting and important time, as TfW continues with its ambition to become Wales’ premier public transport company as it continues to take steps to become a unified multimodal transport operator.

Marie is no stranger to the rail industry. She has previously been the Service Delivery Director for the Greater Manchester tram network and has been Deputy Chief Operation Officer at TfW.
In her 17-year career, she played key roles at TfW, including during the 2018 transition when the rail franchise changed ownership from Arriva Trains Wales to Transport for Wales.
As well as all that, Marie is also a senior figurehead of Women in Rail, which peruses, encourages and supports inclusivity, diversity and equality, which align with TfW’s culture and ambitions.
Until her new appointing role begins, Marie is currently the Chief Customer and Culture Officer at TfW.
“I’m extremely proud and excited to step into the role as Chief Operating Officer at TfW. Having been part of this organisation since 2018, I’ve seen first-hand the progress we’ve made and I’m eager to continue driving change.
My focus will be on ensuring operational and customer excellence every day, making it easier for colleagues to deliver for customer and maximising the benefits of our transformation investments to improve services for the people of Wales.”
