Lift company Stannah has announced that it has appointed two industry specialists to play what it calls “a key role” in delivering the work set out in the company’s lift and escalator contract with Network Rail.
Brendan Slevin is joining Stannah as the Network Rail Department (NRD) Manager.
He will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the contract. His experience includes overseeing lift maintenance, repair, refurbishment and replacement on the London Underground and London Overground.
Daniel Bond joins Stannah as the London Infrastructure Branch (LIB) Manager.
He will be the main point of contact and will oversee operational reporting for Network Rail. Prior to this appointment, Daniel managed the installation of escalators for the Elizabeth Line. He also served as a Service Delivery Manager on London Underground.
Glynn Jenkins, who has worked on the Network Rail contract for the past eight years, will work with the two new appointees until he retires.

Network Rail has re-awarded its lift maintenance contract to Stannah for a further five years, and has additionally awarded the company the contract to maintain escalators.
Over the five-year period of the previous contract, Stannah engineers have serviced nearly 1,500 lifts at 554 stations, as far apart as Penzance in Cornwall and Inverness in the north of Scotland.
This has included work at Theale station near Reading in Berkshire, and at Corwen station on the Llangollen Railway.
In each of the contract’s five years, Stannah workers made around 35,000 site visits, carrying out some 67,000 hours of service of full and preventative maintenance.
Stannah’s Major Projects Division has installed, modernised or replaced more than 130 lifts in the last three years.
Stannah’s work includes installing lifts and carrying out routine maintenance. The company also carries out emergency repairs, as well as removing, refurbishing or fully modernising lifts.

More information about Stannah’s contract with Network Rail is available on the company’s website.
“We are delighted to welcome Brendan and Daniel to the team. We are confident that their expertise will strengthen our operations, enhance service delivery and contribute to the ongoing success of the programme.”
