A new challenger for the London – Europe rail route has been announced to offer competitive fares.
Gemini will be chaired by Lord Tony Berkeley and will run trains initially between London and Paris / Brussels via the channel tunnel.
Other destinations are already being developed, along with plans for brand-new trains and a ‘fresh’ approach to ticketing.
Gemini has applied to the Office of Rail and Road for access to Eurostar’s Temple Mills International Maintenance Depot.
The new operator has attracted a team of rail executives who are committed to bringing Open Access Operator services to compete on the cross-channel routes.
“Our team has real strength, depth, vision and dynamism and is
Chair Lord Berkeley
superbly placed to offer customers choice on what is currently a monopoly route”.
