With running over 600 trains a day to 69 stations across ‘s City Region, the operation of Merseyrail is complex.

Not only is this system vital to the many people who use it to get to work, school, or use it for leisure, but the network has also had to put up with challenges which have been caused by the introduction of its new fleet of class 777 units which have caused operational changes to the network.

Despite this, Merseyrail has shown that even in times of transitional challenges on a rail network, it is still possible to deliver a reliable service that befits the communities that it serves while playing an important role in economic growth across the region.
