Summer train tickets go on sale

Train operator LNER has announced that millions of train tickets for the summer period are now available to purchase through to the 12th of September.

Advance tickets are now available for the period of 24 weeks (excluding the August Bank Holiday Weekend)

In order to ensure the best value fares, LNER have said that those with summer travel plans should book early to avoid disappointment.

LNER services can take passengers to to to celebrate 200 years of the modern railway, or perhaps to Edinburgh for the August festival season.

In July, LNER will be running a special service especially for the Oasis Live’25 tour.

The special ‘LNER She’s Electric’ service will be departing from Station at 0:00 with fans arriving into King’s Cross at 13:38.

LNER says that in order to get the best value fares, passengers should use the LNER website or APP to book, as this ensures no booking fees and the option to choose a preferred seat.

David Flesher, Commercial Director at LNER, said: “We know that getting summer travel plans sorted nice and early is important to our customers, so we are delighted to be able to put tickets for the summer period on sale today – right through to almost mid-September. “Booking early not only provides peace of mind but also means customers can secure the best value fares. There are so many destinations to discover along our route, plenty of places to explore and opportunities to make special memories.”
