A £3.5m refurbishment project at Awe Viaduct has been completed by Network Rail.
The three-span wrought iron viaduct was completed in 1879 and is found near Taynuilt on the Oban branch of the West Highland Line.
Work on the viaduct began in Summer 2024 with the timber deck being replaced.
The old paint was also removed to allow repairs to the structure. Now that repairs have been completed, the viaduct has been repainted.
“We’re delighted to have completed this £3.5m project on Awe viaduct on time and on budget while causing as little disruption as possible.
Owen Ferry, project manager, Network Rail
