The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust has released an update on A1 No. 60163 Tornado as its return to full service edges ever closer.
Since the turn of the new year, snagging work has taken place to fix minor issues that were found during the running-in period following its overhaul.
Today (26th February 2025), 60163 Tornado completed test runs at the Nene Valley Railway, four round trips with 7 Mk1s.
The conclusion from today is the Tornado ran in fine form, getting a thumbs up from the team.
The trust says ‘We now look forward to attending the East Lancashire Railway ‘Legends of Steam’ event in March as well as completing mainline light engine and loaded test runs.”
