SRPS Railtours has announced a deal with The Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust that will see 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley haul tours over the Forth Bridge in August.
Five special trains will run from Edinburgh Waverley during August, including a trip to Aberdeen.
Locomotive Services Ltd will operate the tours and will see SNG return to its base, where it worked at Aberdeen between 1962 and 1966 before being purchased by the SNGLT.
“I am delighted to announce that SRPS Railtours will be offering Steam hauled specials over the famous Forth Bridge during our 55th Anniversary Year with a very famous locomotive in the form of 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’, which last featured on one of our trains in 2011. This beautiful Gresley Pacific steam locomotive will work 4 services around the Firth of Forth and 1 return trip to Aberdeen over 3 dates in August.”
