Steam locomotive Isaac has been repainted into a Caledonian-style livery at the Statfold Barn Railway & Museum at Tamworth in Staffordshire.
Isaac is an 0-4-2 tank engine built by William Bagnall at Stafford in 1953 for hauling trains around the Rustenburg Platinum Mines in South Africa.
In 1981, the Rustenburg Platinum Mines decided it was surplus to requirement and withdrew it from service, and the following year it was shipped to the Welsh Highland Railway.

In 2012, Isaac underwent a full restoration at the Boston Lodge Works on the Ffestiniog Railway and was painted in a green livery. Isaac arrived at the Statfold Barn Railway in 2021.
The RPM logo of Rustenburg Platinum Mines has been painted at the top of the cab side, its original number 3 has been painted on the sandbox, and the nameplate Isaac is currently being re-painted by one of the railway’s volunteers and will soon be returned to its place on the side tank.
Isaac’s next appearance will be on the 8th and 9th of March at the railway’s Spectacle of Steam Weekend. Details about for tickets and further information about the weekend is online at www.statfold.com/spectacle-of-steam/.
Statfold Barn Railway and Museum has one of the UK’s largest collections of rare, unique, and historic locomotives from around the world, and the Spectacle of Steam Weekend the railway promises visitors will see more working steam locomotives in one hour than anywhere else in the country.
Trains will be running on lines with three different gauges, from 12¼ inches to 2-foot gauge. The 2-foot gauge railway has four stations: Statfold Junction, Strawberry Park Platform, Oak Tree Halt, and Cogan Halt. After Cogan Halt, the line goes around the Balloon Loop before returning to Oak Tree Halt.
A new 12¼-inch gauge line known as the Mease Valley Light Railway was laid in 2022, and has four stations in addition to the 2-foot gauge line, including Mease Valley Light Railway, Mallard Halt, Oak Tree Halt and Warren Hill.
During the weekend, the Transport Museum at Wythall will provide a free shuttle bus service between Statfold Country Park and Tamworth.

In February last year, the railway reached an agreement with the Hawthorn Engine and Carriage Trust to restore Black Hawthorn 0-4-0ST Portugesa.

if they are attempting CR Blue that blue is far too bright.. I love the Caledonian Railway and I’m not one to complain about an “inauthentic” livery on locomotives but I much prefer the green she was previously in
