With rail service punctuality playing a big part, Greater Anglia has won the Train Operator of the Year award at the 2025 Rail Business Awards.
Following on from the successes in recent years, Greater Anglia has always been consistently close to winning the award each year, finishing in the top two every year since 2020.
This win has made sure that Greater Anglia has now won the Train Operator of the Year award three times in the last six years.

Add to that Greater Anglia has been the UKs most reliable train operator since 1 April 2023 according to statistics with 94.1% of services running on time or arriving at stations no more than five minutes late across its network since this date.
Greater Anglia is also setting an example to other rail companies across the UK with a punctuality of over 95% on its most reliable routes.
This has led Greater Anglia to grow and the introduce trains on new routes, including the launch of direct services from Norwich to Stansted Airport.
The award of Train Operator of the Year makes this the ninth different award won by Greater Anglia in the last 12 months.
Everyone at Greater Anglia is very proud to have won the Train Operator of the Year award for the third time in six years. Right across our company, colleagues are passionate about doing their best for the customers and communities we serve. With excellent performance, a commitment to customer service, high quality new trains, and effective partnerships with other rail industry organisations and wider stakeholders, we’re fully focused on maintaining our high standards.
It was also pleasing to see further recognition with the Marketing and Communications Excellence award for our Stansted Express marketing campaign.
We’re grateful to key partners, such as Network Rail, the Department for Transport, Stadler, Alstom, community rail partnerships, station adopters, other rail industry organisations and regional stakeholders who all play a key role in helping us provide a high-quality service. We will continue to work to keep up our high standards and keep on improving – always focused on delivering the best train service we can for customers, communities, and wider stakeholders across our region.”
