The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway has announced two visiting steam locomotives for its 150th Anniversary Gala.
Set to be held between the 3rd and 5th May 2025, the gala will feature an intensive timetable.
The first gala visitor is Green Goddess, which first visited the RER on trial in 1925 before its home base (the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway was built).
The second visitor will be Bonnie Dundee, a locomotive which was built to serve the Dundee Gasworks. The locomotive is due back at the RER and will haul passenger trains at the railway for the first time in 20 years.
