Transport for Greater has reminded passengers that work at Weaste stop next month will mean a 2 week closure.

Trams will not run between Eccles and MediaCityUK between the 1st February and the 25th February 2025.

MediaCityUK will continue to be service by trams from Manchester city centre as normal.

A tram replacement service will run between the affected stops, but TfGM says that passengers may find it cheaper and faster to catch a Bee Network bus.

The work is part of a £147m project to upgrade the network until 2027.

“The works at Weaste tram stop are essential to ensure that services on the Eccles line remain safe and reliable for the thousands of journeys people make on it every day.

“As always, we are working hard to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum, including the provision of replacement buses for our passengers.

Ian Davies, TfGM’s Interim Network Director for Metrolink
