ScotRail has issued an update on its services following disruption caused by Storm Éowyn.
Although most of ScotRail’s routes have now reopened, some are still closed.
The storm saw very strong winds, rain and snow in parts of Scotland. This caused damaged to some rail routes, some of which need to remain shut while Network Rail carries out repair work.
Last Thursday, ScotRail announced that all it services would close. The storm also caused the cancellation of rail tours.

Workers are continuing their efforts to restore the railway from what ScotRail calls the “significant damage” inflicted by Storm Éowyn.
Network Rail’s teams have been out checking routes since Friday night. Network Rail has reported about five hundred incidents across the railway network. This includes 120 trees falling on to the railway.
Ongoing disruption includes several routes from Glasgow Central. Some of the suspended routes will have replacement buses running.
Full details of the disruption are available from ScotRail. The operator will issue updates as routes are repairs and services resume.
Passengers who had bought a ticket but were then unable to use it due to the storm’s disruption will be able to use their ticket up to and including Friday 31 January.
