Eurostar, who run train services from London to Europe, have reported significant growth during 2024.
The company saw 850,000 more passengers than in 2023, taking the total number of passengers for the year to 19.5 million.
The numbers were helped due to the strong demand during the Olympic and Paralympic Games which were held in Paris.
Four routes in particular contributed to the growth.
London to Paris saw an increase of 280,000 passengers, and journeys to Brussels increased by 250,000

Meanwhile, passengers travelling from Paris to Brussels and the Netherlands added 160,000 and 140,000 passengers respectively.
The company also reported a 39% increase in its loyalty programme users, Club Eurostar. Three hundred million points were redeemed in 2024, with almost 4 million members.
By 2030, the first of up to 50 new trains are expected to be in service, expanding the fleet by 30%
“Eurostar continued its strong growth in 2024, breaking its own previous passenger records. I would like to thank our customers and recognise the efforts of our teams for this excellent result in the company’s 30th year. Looking ahead, this is further proof of the huge demand for international rail and the great potential of sustainable travel. Eurostar is targeting growth to 30 million passengers and investing in up to 50 new trains as a direct result, with the aim of delivering a unique and exceptional service long into the future”
