HS2 Ltd. has announced the teams tasked with delivering high-speed 2s track, signalling, communications, power, and various other systems.
With many parts of the route already under construction or even completed, attention now turns to what companies will undertake which roles to complete Britain’s newest high-speed mainline, to get it up and running into a fully functioning railway.
Contracts are still yet to be officially signed as a required standstill period of 10 days needs to be passed before work can begin. The overall cost of the contracts is worth £3 billion and will provide thousands of jobs along the 140-mile route as the next key phase of HS2 commences.
So far, earthworks and infrastructure projects have been undertaken along the HS2 route. This has involved building tunnels, viaducts and bridges along with shaping the formation of the landscape to form embankments and cuttings.
The companies listed below will need to install 280 miles of track that will need to be passed for 225mph running, overhead power and electric substations need to be installed along with signalling equipment.
While approximately 1,200 miles of fibre optic cabling need to be set up and linked to the control system for the HS2 route, to provide communication and safe operation.

You can tell its 200 years later and not capable of building the railway from start to finish after all every railway was contractor to government so it don’t matter 2 centuries ago to now.
So now will Labour put the next legs in to HS2 this term of government to Manchester and Leeds.
HS2 still needs to extend North of Birmingham Curzon Street to Manchester and the rest of Northern England. And new trains to be built that can reach speeds up to 200mph on HS2.
