London trains cancelled due to broken rail

UPDATE: has now ended


are advising passengers of train cancellations/changes after a broken rail was discovered in the area.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day and also affects and services.

Great Northern / Thameslink says that trains between Moorgate and Hertford North may take up to 30 minutes longer than usual, with trains between Moorgate and Gordon Hill / Hertford North not running as well as trains from Peterborough towards London Kings Cross.

There are alternative travel arrangements in place, so please check with your operator for the latest advice.

London North Eastern Railway says that a reduced timetable is now in operation to allow those that do run to run to a scheduled timetable as there is a 5mph speed restriction in place.
