Steam locomotive 61306 Mayflower to visit Shropshire this Wednesday

61306 Mayflower

61306 Mayflower is set to make a visit to Shrewsbury this Wednesday (4th September 2024) as it hauls part of The Welsh Marches Express.

The tour will start at with diesel traction and will depart at 05:33. From here, the train will pass through (05:52), Southampton Central (06:18), Eastleigh (06:31), Romsey (06:50), Salisbury (07:14), Warminster (07:46) and Bristol Temple Meads at 08:50.

At Bristol, 61306 Mayflower will be attached to the train and will depart at 09:22. From Bristol, Mayflower will pass through Patchway (09:51), Severn Tunnel Junction (10:08), Abergavenny (10:47), (11:17) and Shrewsbury at 13:39.

After time in Shrewsbury, Mayflower will depart at 15:50 and will return via the same route, passing through (16:21), (17:04), Severn Tunnel Junction (18:47), Patchway (19:10), Bristol Temple Meads (19:23 – diesel hauled from here), Westbury (20:43), Warminster (20:54), Salisbury (21:27), Romsey (22:10), Eastleigh (22:35), Southampton Central (22:56), Brockenhurst (23:19) and Bournemouth at 23:45.
