Rapido Trains has announced a range of model railway stock all relating to the Ivor the Engine story.
Ivor the Engine was a book by Oliver Postgate which later was made into an animated TV series in 1958 and 1975.
The models by Rapido will come in 00 gauge and will be ‘ready to run’.
The DC Ready / Sound Fitted locomotive will come with working headlamps and a glowing dragon egg in the firebox.
The pack will also come with two open/sheep wagons and cardboard figures as well as a brand-new Ivor the Engine story which has been written/illustrated by Daniel Postgate.
The locomotive pack will cost £304.95 for the DCC Sound Fitted model – so you really can get your Pshhhhhticuff on!
Also available to pre-order is a Rolling Stock pack which, for £114.95, provides a passenger coach, coal hopper, 1-plank wagon with crate load and more cardboard figures.
Rapido says that all the stock will be compatible with other 00 gauge products.
Both packs are available to pre-order now from the Rapido website.

I grew up with Sammy the Shunter books. That would make an entertaining model series.
