Wayne Dixon, a Network Rail signaller, is challenging himself to do a 359 mile sponsored cycle ride for a week this September.
The money that he and his friend Garry Nightingale raise will go to Rowcroft Hospice in Torquay.
The pair will spend 6 days cycling across four countries, starting in London on the 24th September.
Once they begin they will travel to France, Holland and Belgium, ending in Ghent on the 29th September.
The pair are aiming to raise £500 for the hospice who provide care to people with life limiting illnesses and their families.

Wayne said: “I've been a cyclist for years, but a 2012 campaign amongst the Exeter signallers to cycle to work really furthered my interest in exploring the world on two wheels.
“Each year I embark on a fundraising ride with friends and this year is no different.
“We're hoping that the funds we raise can really make a difference for the Rowcroft Hospice. The support they provided to a member of our railway family a few years ago really touched me, the work they do is invaluable.
“We hope that by the end of our ride, we'll have reached or even exceeded our target – every donation helps us stay motivated on our journey, knowing how much the funds will mean to Rowcroft House.
“No matter what the roads and skies of Europe throw at us, we'll keep turning those pedals, because it's all for such a good cause.”
