The strike action is set to affect the entire rail network on Tuesday the 21st, Thursday the 23rd and Saturday the 25th of June.
Northern is collaborating with Network Rail to find which services the rail operator can run with the industry, with precedence given to vital routes on mainline and routes into major cities.
Train operator Northern are anticipating that only a very limited timetable will be operating and is advising customers not to travel on the strike dates and where possible not to travel on the days between as well. Customers are being advised to find alternative transport if their travel is essential.
Details regarding the services which will be running during the strike action will be released as soon as possible with customers advised to visit http://northernrailway.co.uk/travel/strikes to find the most up-to-date advice and information.
The strike action has been timed to affect the days between causing further disruption to operations, displacing trains across the network and impacting shift patterns.
In response to the RMT announcing strikes, Tricia Williams, chief operating officer at Northern, said:
“Our ability to get customers where they want to be will be significantly impacted and our advice, regrettably, is simply not to travel during the week of strike action.
“We apologise in advance for the disruption and inconvenience that the RMT's industrial action may cause. We continue to be keen to speak to the RMT to find a resolution and avoid any strikes.”
Northern normally runs approximately 2,000 services each day to 540 stations throughout the North of England.
