Steam locomotive 35018 British India Line to haul London to Carlisle tour this Saturday

35018 British India Line will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in and on Saturday 9th April.

The locomotive is on a special railtour. 35018 British India Line is hauling the Excursion on Saturday.

The railtour departs Euston behind an electric locomotive at approximately 07:08 am.

The railtour will then head for Carlisle, where it will make stops at Central (07:43), (08:24), (08:41), (09:30) and Preston (10:14) before arriving at North Junction at 10;42.

Here, the steam locomotive will be added to the front of the train which will depart with the locomotive at 11:29, steaming through Oxenholme (11:44) and Penrith (12:23), it will go non-stop to Carlisle, where it will arrive at 12:44.

After nearly 2 hours in Carlisle, the steam locomotive will depart Carlisle at 14:22 bound for . It will pass through Lazonby & Kirkoswald (14:45) and will stop for water at (15:05).

Continuing down the and Carlisle line, the locomotive will pass over the Viaduct at approx 15:55, continuing to Settle, passing through Settle Junction (16:08) where it heads for , for a water stop, at 16:14.

From here, 35018 British India Line will pass through (17:01) and Blackburn (17:26) before arriving at Preston at 17:54.

At Preston, 35018 British India Line is taken off the train, and an electric locomotive will take the same path back to London Euston, calling at Crewe (19:29), Nuneaton (20:27), Rugby (20:49), (21:20) and at 22:03.

The railtour will arrive back at its final destination of London Euston at 22:28.
