Direct Rail Services wins major award for ninth year in a row

Direct Rail Services has been named ‘Best Performing Rail Freight Operator’ at the Golden Whistle award for the 9th year in a row!

The Golden Whistles are held by Modern Railways and The Chartered Institution of Railway Operators with awards being given based on operations performance. This year has once again seen Direct Rail Services (DRS) take home the ‘UK’s Most Reliable Freight Operator’ award.

The awards were able to be carried out in person for the first time in two years and members of the DRS team were delighted to accept the award on behalf of DRS and also for its Nuclear Transport Solutions’ (NTS) rail division.

The Gold Whistles have now been running for 13 years with DRS winning the ‘Best Performing Rail Freight Operator’ award 10 times which is an incredible achievement.

Rail provides 76% less CO2 emissions than road transport and DRS works closely with their clients to put in place new services which take advantage of electric rail freight and deliver no exhaust emissions transportation, safely, securely ad reliably.
