Merseyrail to operate enhanced Liverpool services this Boxing Day

Special Boxing Day trains are set to run for Merseyrail passengers in the Liverpool City Region this Christmas

Merseyrail will be running special services between 09:00am and 18:30pm on Boxing Day and will be operating six-car services to allow for maximum capacity with services running every 30 minutes, calling at the following stations:

Southport – Liverpool – Liverpool South Parkway:  Southport, Birkdale, Ainsdale, , Blundellsands and Crosby, Waterloo, Sandhills, , St Michaels and Liverpool South Parkway

Ormskirk – Liverpool: Ormskirk, Maghull, Aintree, , Kirkdale, Sandhills and Liverpool Central

Kirkby – Liverpool: Kirkby, Fazakerley, Kirkdale, Sandhills and Liverpool Central

New Brighton – Liverpool: New Brighton, , Conway Park, James St and Liverpool Central

West Kirby – Liverpool: West Kirby, Leasowe, Birkenhead North, Conway Park, James St and Liverpool Central

– Liverpool: Hooton, Bromborough, Bebington, Rock Ferry, Birkenhead Central, James St and Liverpool Central.

  1. Does that mean that Merseyrail can start operating the new Class 777 Metro units in service as Stadler have won the contract to manufacture 52 Class 777 plus with 60 Class 777 also to be built.
