A steam locomotive from the Locomotive Services Ltd pool will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in and around Buxton on Wednesday 29th September 2021.

The locomotive is on a special railtour on Wednesday with the steam locomotive hauling The Buxton Spa Express.

The railtour will depart Hereford behind a diesel locomotive at 05:58 and will then head to Crewe, making stops at Leominster (06:13), Ludlow (06:26), Craven Arms (06:39), Church Stretton (06:52), Shrewsbury (07:09) and Crewe at 07:54, where the steam locomotive is added to the train.

The return trip will depart Buxton at 15:39 and will pass through New Mills Central (16:50), Romiley (16:56), Woodley (16:59), Woodley (17:48), Romiley (17:50), New Mills Central (18:01), Edale (18:18), Bamford (18:29), Grindleford (18:35), Chesterfield (18:59), Derby (19:43), Burton on Trent (20:51), Rugeley Trent Valley (21:24), Stafford (21:45) and Crewe at 22:15.
