As part of the three yearly potential development assessments of Isle of Anglesey’s Active Travel Network Map, both Transport for Wales and the Isle of Anglesey County Council are inviting the resident to submit feedback on the current Network in the second stage of the consultation process.

Seeking to promote the use of active travel, such as walking and cycling, the routes and paths available plays a big part in attracting more users.

The Active Travel Network Map for the Isle of Anglesey shows the current network, with improvements and developments appraised on a three-yearly basis.

The consultation process is organised to determine which routes should be focused on.

In this phase of the consultation process, residents can add comments via CommonPlace, where they will be collected and reviewed. The link to Anglesey’s CommonPlace page can be found here.

Five virtual sessions are also taking to give attendee’s the opportunity to discuss and feedback on their thoughts on the proposed new routes.

“I encourage all Anglesey residents to share their thoughts on the walking and cycling routes we have proposed. Our main priority is to ensure that Active Travel routes provides opportunities for everyone in the community.”

“The feedback we receive will be used to support us to implement plans for future improvements to the walking and cycling network and assist us to develop the Island’s Active Travel Network Map further.”

Community Engagement Officer at Transport for Wales, Louis Mertens said: “We’re really excited to run these sessions looking at walking and cycling routes across Anglesey. We actively want to encourage people to sign up to the workshops and give their thoughts on the routes that the Anglesey County Council have proposed.”

“Walking and cycling is more than a transport issue, and Transport for Wales want to help involve people in decisions and processes which help shape their communities.”

We are eager to receive further views from the public to help develop more cycling and walking opportunities for everyday journeys here on Anglesey.”
