London North Eastern Railway and Atalian Servest has been named as a finalist in a prestigious industry award for their work in keeping people safe during the pandemic.
A team of 360 staff have been working more than 600,000 hours (combined) to enhance LNER's cleaning regime since March 2020 as part of the COVID Secure Pledge by LNER.
The operator has been shortlisted in the Partners in Cleaning – Public Sector category of the Professional Facilities Management Partnership Awards 2021, which has been running for 28 years.
Cleaning teams are equipped with fogging machines and cloths make sure touch points are clean.
Warrick Dent, Safety and Operations Director at LNER, said: “The safety of our customers and colleagues is always our top priority. We are working closely with our cleaning partners to deliver a world-class regime, with our dedicated teams delivering record levels of cleaning to the highest standards right across our route, in our stations and onboard our trains.”

The winners are set to be announced at an awards ceremony in November 2021.
