Reduced train services have begun on the Snow Hill Lines. West Midlands Railway announced that from Monday the 14th September that some services were being temporarily withdrawn due to the impact of COVID-19.
Buses will be operating in place of some trains after the impact of the pandemic is making it difficult for the train operator to run a full service.
It said there had only been a small increase in passenger numbers and that less than 30% of pre-coronavirus journeys are being made.
WMR Customer Experience director, Jonny Wiseman said “We are committed to providing as many trains as we can with the resources available. We are sorry that we have had to make this decision but the impact of the pandemic means, despite our best efforts, we are unable to run as many trains on the Snow Hill lines as we want to.”
Anyone using the Snow Hill Lines can check the West Midlands Railway website for the latest information.
