Train operator, , has launched a new exemption badge for passengers who are unable to wear a face covering.

People with conditions such as asthma and those with disabilities that rule out the wearing of face coverings will be given badges which they can wear when travelling with c2c.

c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: “We have launched this new exemption badge to support those customers who are unable to wear a face covering. We know some people may feel more comfortable wearing something that says they are exempt from this rule and also allows our staff as well as the British Transport Police to know who should and shouldn't be wearing a face covering.”

Since 15 June, face coverings have been mandatory on public transport in England following changes to government guidelines due to the pandemic.

The badges can be collected at all c2c stations or applied for through their website here.

  • Why don’t the govement supply of the babges, where we could pick them at your doctors surgery, after all thats where they keep ones notes. and that should stop fraurd hope fully.

  • But it doesn’t stop some idiots putting their feet up on the seats and making more hassle for c2c commuters including posting it on social media. Perhaps c2c should start giving them fines for putting feet up as the trains are empty or has less passengers whilst the Coronavirus restrictions is still in place.
