The East Anglian Railway Museum has confirmed that their flagship locomotive, N7 No. 69621 is set to undergo an overhaul, and is to begin in the coming weeks.
The aim is that the overhaul will be completed by 2024 to celebrate the locomotives centenary.
Currently, the locomotive is a static exhibit at the EARM after its last boiler ticket expired in 2015.

Locomotive manager, Michael Sanders, told RailAdvent “the wait is finally at an end and approval to begin the restoration has been achieved. Allowing for a thorough examination of the work required. Steps to begin the process of dismantling the N7 will start in earnest; however, we will require additional financial support to enable the timely completion of the overhaul any help will be greatly appreciated”.
