As Coronavirus continues to change everyday life, with strict guidelines in place regarding social distancing, people are still piling on to London Underground trains.

Finepix Photography has kindly allowed RailAdvent to share these photos of people piling on to the trains to do their commute.

These pictures were taken between Upney and Mile End on the Tube network and clearly shows people not keeping to the distancing guidelines.

Even with the improved District Line S7 stock, clearly too many passengers needed to board this train.

Transport for London has already closed 40 stations and reduced their timetable as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

  • If the “almighty mayor of london” Sadiq Khan didn’t cut services then there would be fewer people getting on more trains. He underestimated how many “vital key workers” there are, that can not work from home. Shame & blame him, not our key workers that are on the front line while he self isolates!!! RANT OVER!!

  • The need (or desire) to work is very strong where the alternative is a jobless vacuum; I am trying to take a balanced view of this bizarre situation-we need to stop this unacceptable crowding of tube trains, yet those travelling feel they are justified. Then there is the question of who are the ‘key workers’? The man holding an electric drill kit may well be doing maintenance work at a hospital; he could equally be fitting-out a posh residence in Belgravia. How are we to judge? Answers, please, on a very big postcard…
