Strong winds up to 70mph and heavy rain have been forecast this weekend, as part of Storm Dennis, and Northern has issued advice.

Disruption is expected across much of the Northern network this weekend as Storm Dennis is set to arrive on Saturday afternoon.

From 17:00 today until 10:00 tomorrow the line between Hebden Bridge and Rochdale will be closed. Customers are advised NOT TO TRAVEL on this route.

The last train services to run the full route are expected to be;

  • 15:42 Leeds to Chester
  • 15:54 Manchester Victoria to Leeds

After these times train services will be suspended between Hebden Bridge and Rochdale. Trains will only be able to run on the following sections of the Calder Valley route as follows;

  • Leeds to Hebden Bridge
  • Manchester Victoria to Rochdale.

Northern ticket holders will be accepted on TransPennine services from Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly/Victoria via Huddersfield at no extra cost.
