Photos, once again kindly supplied to us by Adrian Rodsett, have revealed some of the damage that Storm Ciara flooding has done at the steam locomotive shed in , on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

Storm Ciara hit the UK yesterday, causing widespread disruption – some of which continues through Monday (more information here). However, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway at Haworth seems to be one of the worst-hit.

The extent of the damage is not yet known.

However, the photos clearly show where the flood water got, and where the debris got too.

Haworth MPD is home to several Keighley & Worth Valley Railway residents, including 41241, 45212, 45596 ‘Bahamas', 85, 5820 ‘Big Jim' and 43924. It is also home to some of the railway's diesel locomotives, including 37075 and the diesel railbus.

This is a saddening sight to see, and one that nobody would have expected.

It is not yet confirmed what damage has been caused by the floodwater. However, there is a big clean up job to be done. If there is damage, it will cost the KWVR a lot of money.

  • WOW this looks terrible all this water in Haworth. It must be hard when the people in Haworth want to go to the spar but they can’t as it’s still flooded.
