New trains for Chester and Warrington are coming

has announced that it is introducing brand new trains for the area.

The new trains will serve Chester, Frodsham, Helsby and Warrington.

From Monday 21 October new Class 195 trains will start to operate between Chester and Leeds calling at Frodsham, Helsby, Warrington Bank Quay, Earlestown and Newton le Willows.

Northern has ordered 101 new trains as part of a £500m investment in rail in the North.

There are already 20 new trains operating on a number of routes and the trains introduced on the Chester to Leeds route will see the overall number increase to 29.

  • Still Northern are ignoring the Northeast whilst the Northwest is getting new Class 195 trains. When will Northern still introducing the Class 769 Bi-mode trains.
