Swanage set to welcome streamlined steam locomotive this Thursday

Steam locomotive No.60009 Union of South Africa will be back in steam on the mainline and will be passing through Basingstoke and Eastleigh on Thursday, 12th September 2019.

The A4 Class locomotive is on a railtour this Thursday. 60009 is hauling a tour from London Victoria to Swanage.

The locomotive will depart London Victoria at 08:45, and will then pass through Clapham Junction (09:01), Brentford (09:16), Feltham (09:25), Staines (09:32), Woking (10:03), Farnborough (10:19), Winchfield (10:27), Basingstoke (10:52), Winchester (11:40), Eastleigh (11:48), Southampton Central (11:59), Beaulieu Road (12:12), Bournemouth (12:48), Poole (13:03), Wareham (13:15) and Swanage at 14:00.

The return journey will see the 60009 depart Swanage at 16:40 and will then pass through Wareham (17:19), Poole (17:33), Bournemouth (17:47), Brockenhurst (18:06), Southampton Central (18:21), Romsey (18:44), Andover (19:26), Basingstoke (19:52), Brookwood (20:28), Woking (20:46), Staines (21:16), Richmond (21:39), Clapham Junction (21:53) and London Victoria at 22:08.
