Caledonian Sleeper has announced that they has been a delay in the introduction of their brand new trains.
Therefore, this means that their Highland sleeper services will be operated using the current fleet of trains.
The decision to put the introduction of the new carriages by a few weeks means that CAF, the train's manufacturer, can make sure that the coaches are up the high standard that passengers have come to expect from Caledonian Sleeper.
The new trains are now expected to enter service in Highland routes by mid-October 2019.

Class 88s could be ideal as they are Bi-mode locomotives and Caledonian Sleeper could of ordered some of the Class 88s to operate them along with the Mk5A coaches on the London Euston/Glasgow Central-Fort William, Inverness, Thurso and Wick Caledonian Sleeper service. With the Class 92 to operate with the Mk5A coaches on London Euston-Glasgow Central.
Even though this service never exited but I think there should be a Penance/Swansea/Brighton/Milford Haven-Glasgow Central/Edinburgh/Fort William/Aberdeen/Oban/Inverness/Stirling and Thurso/Wick national Caledonian Sleeper services. That would be good if that could happen.
