Nick Simpson from the Grosmont MPD News – The Original Facebook Group has released information on the work being completed on 926 Repton.
926 Repton is based at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, and in particular, is based at Grosmont MPD.
Currently, Repton is on exam and boiler washout ready for its tour of galas around the country.
Repton is having a valve exam, blast and passage de-carbon and the steam heat and injector valves are off for overhaul.
The locomotive will be re-brake blocked throughout and then will have a boiler washout ready for the upcoming galas.
Other jobs that will be completed on the locomotive will be a full degrease and full clean of the locomotive. 926 will perhaps have a freshen up of the smokebox and front end paint too.
Once this is all complete, it will be ready for the upcoming gala’s, including the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Autumn Steam Gala, Great Central Railway Autumn Steam Gala and the East Lancashire Railway Autumn Steam Gala.
