Transpennine Express have announced that they have introduced WhatsApp for its passengers.

The new social media channel went live today (Monday 4th February 2019) for passengers to ask all sorts of questions, whether it’s what ticket to buy or when is the next train to your destination.

TransPennine say they are committed to finding new ways to communicate with their customers and this new channel will make it even easier for people to get the support they need.

To contact TPE, passengers simply need to open WhatsApp and type in the following contact number: 07812 223336.

Lines are open between 0800 and 2100 every day, except Christmas and Boxing Days.

With 1.5 billion users every month, WhatsApp is one of the most used social media platform in the world, with approximately 55 billion messages being sent every day.

What did the officials say?

Customer Experience Director for TransPennine Express, Kathryn O’Brien said:

“We are thrilled that our customers are now able to contact us directly through WhatsApp making us the first train company in the UK to offer this.
