Crewe Community Rail Events has announced that a Class 142 has joined the line up for the visiting trains at the upcoming Crewe Open Day 2019.
The Class 142 is thanks to Arriva Rail North (Northern), its exact number is not yet known, however, this will be announced in due course.
Crewe Open Day will be held on Saturday 8th June 2019, with more visitors due to be announced.
The Class 142 joins steam locomotives 70000 “Britannia”, 46100 “Royal Scot”, 34046 “Braunton” and 45231 “The Sherwood Forester” at the event.
Also joining the open day are 2x Class 08s, a Class 37, 5x class 47s, 2x Class 55s, a Class 57 (Direct Rail Services), Class 66 (Freightliner), Class 67 (DB Schenker), Class 86 (Freightliner), Class 88 (Direct Rail Services), Class 92 (GBRf) Class 121 (Locomotive Services), Class 221 Super Voyager (Virgin Trains) and a Class 390 Pendolino (Virgin Trains)
Tickets for the open day are charged at £12.50 Adult (over 17), £7.50 Child (5-16) and free for under 5.

1. No Pacer has been withdrawn under the DfT plan, so one will be there.
2. Tickets on sale from Feb 6 – see February issue of Railway Magazine for full details
3. There will be a limited number of tickets for postal applications
4. There is no pay at the gate admission, advance ticket only.

Do you mean “Crewe Open Day 2019”. As we are in 2019.
But yes I think Class 142 Pacers are due to be scrapped very soon because of new trains are replacing them. Same with the Class 143 and Class 144 Pacers. Which is why a farewell tour for the Class 142, Class 143 and Class 144 Pacers is to happen before they are finally retire and sent for scrap.
