Steam locomotive in Worcester this Wednesday – where and when to see it!

Steam locomotive 44871 will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Didcot and Worcester on Wednesday 12th December 2018.

The Black 5 is on a special railtour tomorrow. 44871 is hauling The Cathedrals Express on Wednesday.

The railtour departs London Victoria behind the steam locomotive at approximately 09:48 am.

The railtour will then leave London Victoria, bound for Worcester Shrub Hill, where it will head via West Brompton (10:04), Shepherds Bush (10:08), Acton Central (10:23), Brentford (10:34), Hounslow (10:38) and Feltham (10:49) before arriving into Staines at 10:58.

After around 2 minutes, the train will depart Staines at 11:00, and can be seen steaming through Ascot (11:23), Bracknell (11:29), Earley (11:54), Reading (12:06), Cholsey (12:25), Didcot Parkway (12:32), Culham (12:44), Oxford (13:25), Hanborough (13:53), Charlbury (14:02), Shipton (14:06), and Honeybourne (14:25) before arriving into Evesham at 14:32.

After Evesham, the train will head via Pershore (14:48) before arriving into Worcester Shrub Hill at 15:00.

After around 3 hours in Worcester Shrub Hill, 44871 will depart at 17:52, bound for London Victoria. It will once again pass through Ashchurch for Tewkesbury (18:29), Cheltenham Spa (18:38), Stroud (19:00), Swindon (19:33), Didcot Parkway (20:25), Cholsey (20:33), Tilehurst (20:43), Reading (20:48), Earley (20:55) before arriving into Bracknell at 21:08.

From Bracknell, the train will head via Ascot (21:20), Longcross (21:25), Staines (21:41), Ashford (21:46), Feltham (21:50), Hounslow (21:54), Brentford (22:02), Barnes Bridge (22:08), Clapham Junction (22:18) before arriving into London Victoria at 22:31.
