The latest news from The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust on building their brand new Standard 3 Tank No.82045.
‘Bottom-End’
With the frame lifted onto the coupled wheels, work could start on fitting the springs. These now have been fully set up.
The slide bars are in the early stages of being attached to the engine, with further work needed before these are ready for use.
The components for the braking system are in various stages, with the brake shaft below the cab only needing the support bracket’s fitted bolts before it is completed. Once the system is assembled, the handbrake can be used.
Lubrication and Cab
The next stage of manufacture for the four atomisers is machining. Assembly of reversing gearing has started in the cab. Its firmly attached now but will require further work before finished.
You can support the Trust in a number of ways, such as purchasing the newly produced 2019 calendar, making a donation or helping build the engine at the Severn Valley Railway.
