The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust have posted their latest update with information on actives carried out in June.

Fitting the springs

Progress is being made of fitting the springs to the coupled wheel’s axleboxes.

Due to the unorthodox method of fitting them, adjustments to the engine’s position have to be made, including rising one side higher than the other.

Work on other components of the locomotive include the completion of the front cylinder cover’s cladding, pony trunk’s pivot liners undergoing machining and foundation ring & forged braking parts have had orders placed with contractors.

Sponsored Parts

Currently still available for sponsorship for the pony truck are: one side check spring beam (£900); two check spring brackets (£250 each) and four sets of side movement retarding gear (£1500 per set). Since the last update, one side check spring beam and two check spring brackets have been sponsored.

Products

Now available for purchase is a 2019 calendar from the trust. Each month features a photo from the wheeling of the frame, which took place earlier this year. They cost £7.50 each, which includes postage.
