Train operating company, Grand Central, has announced that they have renewed its status as the official travel partner with Huddersfield Town Football Club and its club foundation for a third year running.

The partnership has been extended by another two years and is perfect sense to a company rooted in the local area.

The foundation projects range from breakfast clubs, which have provided almost 900,000 free healthy breakfasts for children in the last five years, and trips to the seaside with help from Grand Central.

This news means that you can rely on Grand Central to get you to the match you support your local football club.

What did the officials say?

Sean English, Grand Central’s chief operating officer, said:

“Huddersfield Town means such a lot to the communities we serve and we’re really excited to be developing projects and partnerships with the club and our other stakeholders.”

“Grand Central’s work is similarly informed by a strong sense of social responsibility – to its customers, employees, suppliers and stakeholders and how we support our communities is a fundamental issue that underpins all aspects of the business”

Huddersfield Town’s commercial director, Sean Jarvis, said:

“For the Terriers, it’s a great opportunity to forge links with the club’s national fanbase. Grand Central is one of the area’s key brands and it’s great for us to be aligned with a company that does such tremendous work in our communities. Not only helps us take Huddersfield to the capital and promote the Yorkshire brand outside of the county, but also encourages our businesses to do the same.”

  1. Ironic that Grand Central don’t actually run trains to Huddersfield, and that they don’t provide a train back to London after 4pm on match days!

  2. Good on Huddersfield Town. Other football clubs such as Bradford City, York City or Middlesborough or could sponsor a deal with Grand Central trains if the contract ends with Huddersfield Town in 2020.
