The Epping Ongar Railway has announced that visiting Ivatt 2MT tank locomotive 41312, visiting from the Mid Hants Railway, will be working the steam service this weekend

Yes, that’s right, the Ivatt will be working both the Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October 2017.

However, the locomotive will have a different number – for the weekend, the Ivatt will be carrying Number 41268. This is a long gone locomotive which Richard Goulding, the late father of the railways Chief Mechanical Engineer, Tony Goulding, passed out as a fireman on at Leicester Midland Shed.

Standard fares apply this weekend, with the normal heritage bus connections and also diesel services in operation.

Additional Service – as well as the regular departures, this weekend their are additional steam hauled services. They will be departing at 16:35 from North Weald and 17:05 from Ongar.

Special offer for Steam Gala ticket holders – for those who attended the gala on 29th or 30th September, you can have free travel for this weekend, just turn up and show your ticket. Not valid for 1st October ticket holders.
