I visited the Ffestiniog’s Vintage Weekend, which was held over the weekend of 9th to the 11th October 2015, this is the annual event to showcase the history of the Ffestiniog Railway, it includes the Spooners Boat, Vintage Trains and much more!
We start the day at Penrhyn, this is to see Prince, who is pulling an early morning vintage train to Blaenau Ffestiniog and return. I Videoed Prince going over the crossing but also saw the gates being shut.
I then travel to Porthmadog Harbour Station, and notice the Merry-go-round, as I walk onto the platform, I see the carriages for the next train, but a very empty station, but then again, it is still 8:25 in the morning.
The next train to depart Harbour Station is David Lloyd George, who is heading for Blaenau Ffestiniog, at the end of this train, Spooners Boat is coupled, this will decouple at Tan-y-bwlch, and then descend back to Harbour Station by gravity and wind power.
Whilst waiting at Harbour Station, David Lloyd George is also waiting in the siding awaiting its next duty.
Once Linda and Blanche had left with the 13:35 to Blaenau Ffestiniog, it was then Prince that was returning from Dduallt, it was pulling a set of vintage coaches.
It was then time for Prince to depart with the last vintage service of the day. It was also the Garrett and Blanche that went off to Boston Lodge.
Linda was on a special Charter Train in the evening. While Taliesin was off back to Boston Lodge after arriving back with a Freight Train.
I then move on to Minffordd to see Linda pass Prince. We also then move to Penrhyn to see Linda go over the crossing.
